Rock & Metal in Hamburg am 18.06.26: Syd dePalma & Pasta & Sardine

The singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Syd dePalma born in Rubí, with roots in Granada and based in Barcelona, unveiled his distinctive musical vision in 2023 with the release of his debut album, El Lugar de Arder (Raso).
His second release, paris (Raso Estudio), published in October 2025, marked his artistic breakthrough, solidifying his exploration of a mutable sound in which experimental pop, psychedelia, flamenco, post-punk, noise, and contemporary electronic music coexist, alongside a pronounced sense of sonic spirituality—all performed in Spanish. The album was widely acclaimed by critics, appearing on year-end best-of lists in outlets such as Rockdelux and MondoSonoro, and being named Best Album of the Year by 20 Minutos.
paris features contributions from artists of the stature of Niño de Elche, Florent Muñoz of Los Planetas—whom he also toured with in 2024 as part of Muñoz’s solo project, playing synthesizers and saxophone—and Heather Cameron. The album maintains a clear connection to the sonic aesthetics of the 1990s, reinterpreted through a modernist and contemporary lens, with influences ranging from The Cure and Echo & the Bunnymen to Elliott Smith, Nicolas Jaar, Alex G, Dean Blunt, Spiritualized, and the sonic universe of David Lynch.
