Er war das stärkste und zudem das dickste Kind der Welt. Dzhambulat Khatokhov trug diesen Titel mit Stolz.
Den Titel bekam er nach zahlreichen kämpfen als Sumo-Ringer in Russland. Seitdem musste sich vor allem seine Mutter mit Negativschlagzeilen auseinandersetzen.
Ihr wurde vorgeworfen, dass sie ihren Sohn misshandeln würde. Mit gerade einmal neun Jahren brachte er über 150 Kilo auf die Waage. Jetzt ist Dzhambulat Khatokhov im Alter von gerade einmal 21 Jahren gestorben.

Schon als Kind zog Dzhambulat Khatokhov erstaunte Blicke auf sich. “Mit gerade einmal sechs Jahren brachte er es auf ein Körpergewicht von knapp 95 Kilogramm, dazu trug er Schuhgröße 42. Bis zu seinem neunten Lebensjahr war er auf ein Gesamtgewicht von fast 150 Kilogramm angewachsen.” (news.de)
Seine Mutter arbeitete als Krankenschwester und schlug damals in der Presse zurück. Ständig wurde ihr vorgeworfen, dass sie die Gesundheit ihres Kindes gefährden würde. „Er wächst nur – nach oben und außen. Was kann ich dagegen tun? Er ist, was er ist, so hat Gott ihn geschaffen.“ (news.de)
Nach einer Untersuchung warnte der britische Arzt Ian Campbell, dass seine Gesundheit gefährdet sei: „Sein Gewicht bedeutet, dass er ein stark erhöhtes Risiko für Diabetes, Krebs und Herzerkrankungen hat. Da er so schwer und jung ist, wird seine Lebenserwartung wahrscheinlich stark sinken.“, formulierte der Arzt damals.
Laut der Mutter haben die behandelnden Ärzte kein medizinisches Problem gefunden was sein Übergewicht verursacht.
„Wir haben verschiedene Prüfungen durchlaufen. Jeder Arzt wollte etwas finden, um zu erklären, warum er so groß ist“, sagte sie damals.
Angeblich sei Dzhambulat absolut gesund gewesen. „Sein Herz, seine Leber und alles andere war proportional zu seiner Größe.“
