Der Country-Star Kenny Chesney trauert um eine liebe Freundin. Der Sänger, Songwriter und Produzent teilte am Montag in die sozialen Medien, Fotos von Maria Rodriguez, die bei einem tragischen Unfall auf den US-amerikanischen Jungferninseln ums Leben kam.
ABC News bestätigte, dass am Montagnachmittag gegen 15 Uhr vier Menschen bei einem Hubschrauberabsturz ums Leben kamen und vier Leichen geborgen wurden.
Die Identität der Verstorbenen wurde bis zur Benachrichtigung der nächsten Angehörigen nicht offiziell bestätigt. Eine Untersuchung der Absturzursache ist im Gange.
Die Musikerin schrieb auf Instagram:
„Heute muss ich mich von meiner Freundin Maria Rodriguez auf den Jungferninseln verabschieden. Maria und andere wurden heute bei einem Hubschrauberabsturz in St. Thomas getötet. Sie war eine liebe Freundin für mich und unsere Inselgemeinschaft. Ich fliege seit über 15 Jahren mit Maria und wir haben viel gelacht und viel zusammen gelebt. Sie war immer die erste Person, die ich sah, als ich landete, und die letzte Person, von der ich mich verabschiedete, als ich die Insel verließ. Das werde ich sicher vermissen. Es ist fair zu sagen, dass ich nie wieder auf die Jungferninseln gehen kann, ohne den Verlust von ihr zu spüren. Sie war so ein großer Teil meines Insellebens.
Also auf Wiedersehen, süßer Freund. Ich bin sicher froh, dass sich unsere Wege auf dieser Seite gekreuzt haben. Wir sehen uns auf der anderen Seite.“
