In den Niederlanden läuft seit 1990, ebenfalls nach dem Vorbild der australischen Version und bei einem Sender der RTL Group (RTL 4), die Serie „Goede tijden, slechte tijden“. Im Gegensatz zur deutschen Fassung macht die niederländische Serie jedes Jahr eine Sommerpause.
Die Dreharbeiten von GZSZ begannen am 16. März 1992 zunächst in den Berliner Union Film Studios in Berlin-Tempelhof. Die erste Episode wurde am 11. Mai 1992 gesendet.

1995 zog die GZSZ-Crew in die brandenburgische Landeshauptstadt Potsdam um, in der seither im berühmten Stadtteil Babelsberg gedreht wird. Auf dem geschichtsträchtigen Gelände von Studio Babelsberg – dem ältesten Filmstudio der Welt – wurden im so genannten Fernsehzentrum bis heute mehr als 6000 ausgestrahlte GZSZ-Episoden produziert.[1] Ein Ende ist nicht abzusehen.[2]
Die Episoden werden stets mit sieben Wochen Vorlauf produziert. Am 22. Juni 1998 wurde mit der 1500. Episode, in der der damalige Ministerpräsident Niedersachsens und spätere Bundeskanzler, Gerhard Schröder, mitwirkte, die Rekordeinschaltquote von 6,73 Millionen Zuschauern erreicht.
Thaddäus Meilinger
Thaddäus Meilinger (39) ist seit 2016 bei „Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten“ als Felix Lehmann zu sehen.

Doch nun legt der Schauspieler eine Pause von der Rolle ein, wie der Sender RTL verkündete. Am heutigen Freitag (2. Juli) fiel für den 39-Jährige vorerst die letzte Klappe, allerdings ist die Figur noch bis zum Spätsommer 2021 bei „GZSZ“ zu sehen.
Wie genau Lehmann aus der Serie ausscheiden wird, ist bislang nicht bekannt.
