Michael Schumacher ist „Der Beste“
Die ständigen vergleiche mit seinem Vater Michael nerven den zukünftigen Formel-1-Rennfahrer nicht wirklich. „Ich finde es okay, es stört mich gar nicht, wenn ich die Fragen kriege und die Vergleiche“, sagte der 21-Jährige in einem Interview mit der Bild am Sonntag.
„Klar muss man seinen eigenen Weg gehen. Aber mein Vater ist für mich der Beste, den es in dem Sport je gegeben hat, warum sollte ich mich also von ihm absetzen wollen?“
In der kommenden Saison fährt Mick Schumacher für den US-Rennstall Haas und feiert seine Premiere in Melbourne, Australien.

„Das wird generell ein besonderer Moment sein“, sagte Schumacher. „Im Endeffekt sind es auch nur Menschen. Sie haben offensichtlich etwas Supergroßes geleistet in dem Sport, aber trotzdem muss man sich da behaupten, sein Bestes geben und so hart, aber fair fahren wie in allen anderen Kategorien bisher“, sagt Mick Schumacher.
Tritt Mick dann endgültig in die Fußstapfen seines Vaters? „Das kann man so sagen, ja. Ich glaube schon, dass es sehr emotional wird. Aber ich freue mich einfach auf die Challenge, auf das Fahren und die Arbeit mit dem Team.“
Mutter Corinna unterstützt F1-Aufstieg
Für seine Mutter Corinna war die Entwicklung ihres Sohnes ebenfalls sehr wichtig. „Sie ist meine Ansprechpartnerin Nummer 1, meine beste Ratgeberin und immer die Erste, die anruft“, sagte er.
Als der Formel-1-Einstieg feststand habe er sie als erstes informiert. „Sie hat sich natürlich gefreut, aber sie hat auch gesagt, dass sie immer wusste, dass ich es schaffe“, sagte Schumacher: „Sie ist sehr optimistisch, aber im Endeffekt war es ja auch so.“
Sebastian Vettel gab Mick Schumacher Tipps
Ein wichtiger Ratgeber Schumachers war und ist Sebastian Vettel. Bald fahren die beiden Deutschen erstmals gegeneinander. „Ich freue mich drauf“, sagte Schumacher.
