Der Vorstands-Vorsitzende Karl-Heinz Rummenigge (65)  löst seinen Vertrag auf, berichten „Bild“ und „Welt“. Deutlich früher als ursprünglich geplant, nämlich schon zum 30. Juni. Die ursprüngliche Laufzeit hätte sich bis zum 31.12.2021 erstreckt. Ab sofort übernimmt Oliver Kahn im Vorstand das Ruder.

Rummenigge soll Informationen des Blattes sich intern für die vorzeitige Übergabe der Verantwortung an Kahn eingesetzt haben, um klare Verhältnisse zu schaffen, um zu verhindern, dass die kommende Saison zweigeteilt gewesen wäre. Schon bei den Verhandlungen mit dem neuen Trainer Julian Nagelsmann hatte sich Rummenigge bedeckt gehalten.

Biographie

Karl-Heinz „Kalle“ Rummenigge wurde am25. September 1955 in Lippstadt geboren. Er ist ein ehemaliger deutscher Fußballspieler auf der Position des Stürmers und heutiger Fußballfunktionär.

In seiner Laufbahn war er als Profifußballer für den FC Bayern München, Inter Mailand und Servette Genf aktiv. In den 1980er Jahren galt Rummenigge als einer der besten Spieler der Welt. Mit der deutschen Nationalmannschaft wurde er im Jahr 1980 Europameister und führte sie als Mannschaftskapitän in die WM-Finals 1982 und 1986 sowie bei der Europameisterschaft 1984.

Von 1991 bis 2002 war er Vizepräsident und seit 2002 ist er Vorstandsvorsitzender der FC Bayern München AG. Außerdem war er von 2008 bis 2017 Vorsitzender der European Club Association.

Rummenigge war 51-mal Spielführer der DFB-Elf und vom 29. Juni 1986 bis zum 18. Dezember 1993 Rekordspielführer, ehe er von Lothar Matthäus überboten wurde.
