Die Fußballwelt trauert um den ehemaligen französischen Nationalspieler Jean-Pierre Adams
Adams, der 22 Mal für Frankreich als Nationalspieler angetreten war, starb am Montag im Alter von 73 Jahren nachdem er 39 Jahre lang im Koma lag.
Das Schicksal des ehemaligen Nationalspielers bewegte das Land seit Jahrzehnten. Eine misslungene Routine-OP wurde ihm 1982 zum Verhängnis.
Fehler des Krankenhauspersonals in Lyon im Zusammenhang mit der Narkose führten dazu, dass sein Gehirn zu wenig Sauerstoff erhielt und er ins Koma fiel.
Die nächsten 39 Jahre lag er im Wach-Koma, bevor er am Montag im Universitätskrankenhaus von Nimes starb.

Seine Ehefrau hielt Adams 39 Jahre lang am Leben
Der im Senegal geborene Fußballer kehrte im Jahr nach der verpfuschten Operation nach Nimes zurück und wurde bis zu seinem Tod von seiner Frau Bernadette gepflegt.
Bernadette zufolge war ihr Mann in der Lage, selbständig zu atmen, zu essen und zu husten. Laut ihren Angaben benötigte er keine medizinische Hilfe.
