Ende 2025 sollen auf kompletter Ahrtalstrecke Züge fahren
Der Wiederaufbau der zerstörten Ahrtalbahn schreitet voran. Ende nächsten Jahres soll die gesamte Strecke in Betrieb sein. Auf einem Abschnitt war eine Reparatur der bestehenden Anlagen nicht möglich.

Drei Jahre nach der Flutkatastrophe im Ahrtal bleibt die Deutsche Bahn beim Wiederaufbau der Strecke im Zeitplan. Ende 2025 sollen wieder Züge auf der gesamten Ahrtalbahnstrecke fahren, wie die Bahn in Frankfurt bekannt gab. Dabei wird nach und nach moderne Leit- und Sicherungstechnik eingeführt, da die Züge dann auf der gesamten Strecke elektrisch fahren werden.
