Er wollte sich seinen großen Traum erfüllen. Ein Fernsehteam begleitete ihn bei allen wichtigen Schritten in seiner Karriere.
Schließlich gelang ihm auch der große Sprung und er hatte sein Ziel erreicht. Doch er konnte sich nur wenige Jahre daran erfreuen. Angehörige und Fans trauern um den beliebten TV-Star.

<h2>Goodbye Deutschland-Star Marcus Basler ist tot </h2>
Gemeinsam mit seinem Partner Frank wanderte Marcus Basler 2017 nach Gran Canaria aus, um einen Hundesalon zu eröffnen. Sie verließen ihre gemeinsame Heimat Köln, um sich in der Ferne etwas Neues aufzubauen.
Ihr Vorhaben begleitete damals das VOX-Team von „Goodbye Deutschland“. (VOX gehört zur RTL-Gruppe) Vor rund fünf Jahren stellten die beiden fest: „Im Moment leben wir, um zu arbeiten“. Doch damit sollte endlich Schluss sein und das Paar entschied sich für einen Neustart in der Sonne auf der beliebten Urlaubsinsel Gran Canaria.

Dort lief jedoch nicht alles wie geplant und die beiden brauchten Jahre, um den Salon „Hundesalon Cita“ auf der Insel zu etablieren. Jetzt aber scheinen all die Mühen umsonst gewesen zu sein, denn Marcus, der Partner von Frank, ist tot.
Wie der Sender VOX auf dem offiziellen Instagram-Account von „Goodbye Deutschland“ mitteilte, ist Marcus Basler am 24. Januar plötzlich verstorben:
„Wir nehmen Abschied von Gran Canaria- Auswanderer Marcus Basler, der am 24. Januar verstorben ist.
[Wir denken] in stiller Trauer an einen so sympathischen und positiven Menschen mit dem Herz[en] am richtigen Fleck. Gemeinsam mit seinem Mann Frank wanderte Marcus 2017 von Köln nach Gran Canaria aus… Jetzt geht die Reise für Marcus weiter. Wir senden seinem Mann Frank sowie seiner Familie und [seinen] Freunden ganz viel Kraft und unser Beileid. Goodbye Marcus. Oder wie man es in Köln sagt: Mach es joot.“

Frank verabschiedete sich mit diesen rührenden Worten von seinem Freund:
„Marcus Basler hat diese Nacht still und leise die große Bühne dieser Welt verlassen … Lass ihn noch einmal mit seiner Blume um die Welt fliegen.“
